In 2003, Erica graduated with honors in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of Phoenix. In the program she was trained in a broad range of video, web, 3D, and traditional animation as well as illustration, design, scriptwriting, and team management. Shortly before graduation, Erica was hired at Fuel Studios as a motion graphics artist where she worked on video projects for numerous high-profile clients, including BMW, and MTV2. She also designed print pieces, served as production assistant on shoots, and drew storyboards for the videos she helped create.
Although she’s used to the bustling cities of the southwest, Erica is not unfamiliar with the Nebraska landscape. She grew up on a feedlot in Scottsbluff, and after graduating high school attended UNL for two years. Since returning to the “Good Life” in 2004, Erica started her own business, “eekart,” through which she continues to produce print, animation, video, web, and fine art pieces.
Erica is currently a graduate student at UNL, pursuing a master of fine arts in painting and drawing. In her limited spare time, Erica serves on the Sheldon Connections steering committee, and can often be found at the Mary Riepma Ross film theater, crushing the volleyball at Spikes, perusing the First Friday art walks—as well as her own art show openings—or sitting at home, laptop in hand and cat on lap.
