Julie Brebner is responsible for the business and finance functions of university communications.  She has worked for UNL since November 2002. Previously she worked for Randolph Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, VA, and prior to that she was the business manager for her husband’s small business for 20 years.

Julie grew up in Maryland, right on the D.C. line.  She feels she will always be a Washingtonian at heart, although her soul belongs to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  After graduating from the University of Maryland, she lived in Lynchburg, Virginia for 26 years before moving to Nebraska. The minute she heard she was moving to Nebraska, she knew she wanted to work at UNL.

Julie has been married to Jim for 33 years. She has two children, Meredith, a University of Virginia alum, and Kevin, who is a junior in Broadcasting at UNL.  For fun Julie hangs out with her dogs, Freya (a Great Dane), Libby (a Springer Spaniel) and Bene (a Pug) and reads, preferably outside with the birds and trees.
