Barbara Bowers joined University Communications in November 1999. She is the assistant to the director and coordinator of the Speakers Bureau. She attended Northwest Community College in Powell, Wyo., before graduating from UNL in 1981. Her prior work experience includes six years in Student Legal Services at UNL, and employment as a medical transcriptionist, transportation supervisor, and social services worker.

Barb and her husband, Bill, have two daughters, Ryly and Liz, two dogs and two cats. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, gardening, cooking, and traveling.
